The Story Unfolds: Reports from media outlets detail the tragic fate of Ranjitha, a 23-year-old homemaker discovered lifeless in her residence. This grim discovery exposed the grim reality of her husband, Darshan Babu, who had amassed debts exceeding ₹1 crore due to his engagement in IPL betting.
Darshan, employed as an assistant engineer, was lured into the betting world by a group promising lucrative returns. However, his initial success quickly spiraled into colossal losses, forcing him to resort to borrowing at exorbitant interest rates. The ensuing financial strain and relentless harassment from creditors ultimately led to Ranjitha’s untimely demise, leaving behind a young child.
A suicide note recovered from the scene shed light on the menacing threats from loan sharks, prompting law enforcement to apprehend three individuals linked to the case. In his statement, Ranjitha’s father implicated 13 individuals, accusing them of coercion and intimidation directed at the couple.
Presently, authorities have detained three of the accused lenders, underscoring an ongoing investigation into the matter.
