“Svaastika charitable trust’s year-long Anti-Drug awareness campaign at Trivandrum International School: Empowering youth to ‘Recover’ and prevent substance abuse”

AS part of the yearlong Anti-drug awareness campaign, Svastika Charitable Trust conducted their third event of the“Recover” program at the Trivandrum International School. With this initiative named “Recover” Svaastika aims to prevent substance abuse amongst the youth.

With a dedicated approach of conducting a yearlong awareness among youth, Svaastika Charitable Trust has collaborated with educational institutions to conduct awareness programs addressing the issue of drug abuse among the young individuals. The “Recover” program is focusing on raising deep awareness about the causes and consequences of drug abuse. As well as is providing a helping hand to anyone who wants to break free from addiction.

Dr S Mahesh Gurukkal, a famous film director, Founder and Martial Arts Guru of Agasthyam Kalaripayattu was the special guest at the event held in Trivandrum International School. Other dignitaries involved were Mr Shivaprasad, International Handball Player and the Campaign Ambassador, Mr Jack Ben Vincent , Chartered President Of Thiruvanathapuram Rotary, Ms Sapnu George, Executive Director of Trivandrum International School , Mr Richard Hillebrand Academic Director and Principal of Trivandrum International School, Mr Rajeev Shankar, Trustee of Svastika Charitable Trust, Mr Roshan Ramachandran, Head of Events & Programs of Svaastika Charitable Trust.

Seema Rafi, Co-Founder of VitaSkills Academy and an expert in Soft Skills, led an impactful interactive session. This segment entailed engaging with students through diverse activities and discussions to efficiently tackle their questions and uncertainties regarding substance abuse.

Additionally, the Agasthyam Kalaripayattu team engaged with the children on few tips of self-defence. Children were briefed on the importance of focusing as well as how to overcome their distractions.

Svaastika Charitable Trust with their association with various institutions, is continuously endeavouring to equip young minds with knowledge and resources to combat substance abuse and rise above addiction.
