Santhigiri fest to make history

Pothencode (THIRUVANANTHAPURAM): Food & Civil Supplies Minister G. R. Anil said that the Santhigiri fest will go down in history due to the importance of varied topics discussed, conferences held and cultural festivals conducted. The minister was addressing the crowd after the inaugural ceremony of the Santhigiri fest 2024, which is being presented after a gap of 12 years with many innovations. Santhigiri is a place for the believers and the disbelievers alike. The community that promotes peace and support to all, providing food for all its visitors is a real pride to the country.

“While all religions give messages aimed at human good, Santhigiri is not only for the good of man but also for the betterment of human beings through peace, friendship and brotherhood of human beings as a community holistically,” he said.

Santhigiri fest 2024 showcases flower show, a pet show full of diversity, an aqua show, a ghost house filled with excitement along the way, a robotic animal show highlighting the advances in science and technology, a 3D show of wonder, an amusement park full of innovations over an area of 10,000 square feet, an amusement park full of innovations, a star forest, and the tribal culture of Kerala , altogether in a 13.000 square feet space.

Another attraction is the electric lights at the Happiness Park. Many people flock to Santhigiri to sit happily in the cold shade of the tree and see the water body and the sights. Along with the inaugration of the fest, preparations are underway for the light & sound show in the Ashram Spiritual Zone as well. The lotus garden will shine again. In 2010, more than 30 lakh people came to see the lighting at the park. The highlight of this year’s event is that visitors will also be able to see the guru’s garden. Anyone, irrespective of caste and religion, can enter the spiritual zone of the ashram. Another highlight is the food festival, which includes vegetarian food flavours from different countries. On holidays, the entry will be from 12 noon to 10 pm and on working days from 3 pm to 10 pm.

From the entrance of Shantigiri Ashram on bypass road to carnival nagari, the entire festival ground will be filled with colorful spectacles. Apart from the regular exhibition and marketing fair, an array of lights have been arranged. Each installation is done in such a way that it stands apart from the usual style and is pleasing to the new generation as well. The spectacular reservoir of the ashram and the lighting of the rock around the water fountain will be a real treat to the visitors.
