Ramraj Cotton contributes to Kerala CMDRF for Landslide Relief
Thrissur, August 4, 2024 — In a heartfelt gesture towards supporting social causes, Ramraj Cotton’s chairman, Mr. K. R. Nagarajan, presented a cheque worth ₹25 lakhs to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF). Alongside him, the company’s brand ambassador, actor Jayaram, donated ₹5 lakhs. These contributions were handed over to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan during a ceremony in Thrissur. The funds are designated to aid the victims of the recent landslides that have severely affected Mundakkai, Chooralmala, and Meppadi in Wayanad. Ramraj Cotton has further committed to distributing dhotis and shirts worth ₹25 lakhs to those impacted, with Jayaram personally leading the distribution efforts in the affected areas.
Mr. K. R. Nagarajan expressed his deep concern for the victims, stating, “The news of the devastation in Wayanad struck me deeply. My heart goes out to the families affected by this tragedy. We believe in the strength of coming together and supporting one another during such challenging times. While our contribution may be modest, it is a heartfelt effort to help the people of Wayanad start the process of healing and rebuilding. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families, and we stand in solidarity with them as they navigate through this difficult period.” Actor Jayaram echoed these sentiments, saying, “Ramraj Cotton has a longstanding commitment to supporting communities, and I am proud to stand alongside Chairman Mr. Nagarajan as we present this contribution to the Chief Minister. It is deeply meaningful for me to visit the affected areas in person, meet the victims, and offer our support directly. We hope that our donations will provide some relief and assist in the healing process. Our hearts and prayers are with the people of Wayanad, and we remain steadfast in our support during this difficult time.”
