PM Modi congratulates Hokato Hotozhe Sema on Bronze medal at Paris Paralympics
Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his heartfelt congratulations to Hokato Hotozhe Sema on winning the bronze medal in the men’s shot put F57 final at the ongoing Paris Paralympics. Modi described the achievement as a “proud moment” for the nation.
In the final, Sema delivered a personal best throw of 14.65 meters to secure the bronze medal. The gold medal was claimed by Iran’s Yashin Khosravi with a throw of 15.96 meters, while Brazil’s Thiago Paulino dos Santos took silver with a 15.06-meter throw.
On his official X handle, PM Modi praised Sema’s “incredible strength and determination,” adding, “A proud moment for our nation as Hokato Hotozhe Sema brings home the Bronze medal in Men’s Shotput F57! Congratulations to him. Best wishes for the endeavours ahead.”
In other Paralympic news, Indian para-athlete Bhavanaben Chaudhary finished fifth in the women’s F46 javelin throw final with a best throw of 39.70 meters.
India’s medal tally at the Paris Paralympics has risen to 27, including six golds, nine silvers, and twelve bronzes. This surpasses India’s previous record of five gold medals at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.
With a total of 15 medals, Indian para-athletes have made a remarkable impact, securing three golds, six silvers, and six bronzes, highlighting their exceptional performances on the global stage.
