The Telugu film ‘RRR’ directed by SS Rajamouli has won the Best Original Song award at the 2023 Oscars for the song ‘Naatu Naatu’. This is the second time an Indian song has won this award, the first being ‘Jai Ho’ from ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ in 2009. The song was composed by MM Keeravani and written by Chandrabose, and sung by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava. Keeravani changed the lyrics of the song ‘Top of the World’ by The Carpenters to express his desire for the film’s success. ‘RRR’ had previously won the Golden Globes award in January 2023.
