One of Google’s most recent feature releases helps children become better readers.
The home screen now features a number of new widgets that integrate Google TV, Google Finance, and Google News.
Google unveiled 7 new features and improvements for Android-based products on Thursday, including smartphones, tablets, and Wear OS watches. You can stay productive while on the road, pick up new skills, and have your information protected with the features.
One of the new services is Reading practise, which helps beginning readers develop their vocabulary and comprehension abilities by accessing millions of kid-friendly ebooks marked with a ‘Practise’ badge on Google Play Books on their Android phone or tablet. According to Google’s blog post, “you can practise mispronounced words and get immediate feedback.” You can also hear how unknown words are pronounced.
Several new Emoji Sticker combinations are also included, along with a number of new widgets that bring Google TV, Google Finance, and Google News directly to the home screen.
Google has unveiled a feature for Wear OS that enables users to play music directly from their wrist, allowing Spotify’s DJ to produce a customised playlist. Another upgrade to Google Keep now allows users to add a tile for quick access to a particular note or to-do list on their watch.
Last but not least, Google has made a dark web report available for use on the Google One website and app for the majority of Google accounts in the US. Run scams to check if your Gmail address has been made public on the dark web, and you’ll get advice on what steps to take to protect yourself if it has.
This feature release occurs just days before Apple’s eagerly anticipated WWDC event, where iOS 17 is anticipated to be unveiled. These kinds of feature dumps are intended to keep Android devices current in between the releases of significant updates.
