Malayalam Actor Lena Reveals She Got Married To Gaganyaan Mission Astronaut Prasanth Nair On Jan 17

Thiruvananthapuram, 27th February 2024: In a surprising revelation, Malayalam actress Lena took to her Instagram account on Tuesday to share that she is married to Indian Air Force Fighter Pilot, Group Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair, one of the four astronauts selected for the prestigious Gaganyaan mission. The announcement came just hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi disclosed the names of the astronauts undergoing training for the groundbreaking space mission.

Lena, known for her role in ‘Sneham,’ also posted a picture of herself and Nair alongside ISRO Chairman S Somanath. In a heartfelt post, she expressed her joy and pride at Nair being awarded the Astronaut Wings by the Prime Minister, hailing it as a historic moment for the country, the state of Kerala, and herself personally.

The actress disclosed that she had tied the knot with Nair through an arranged marriage ceremony on January 17, 2024, and had been waiting for the official announcement to share the news. Lena highlighted the significance of maintaining the required confidentiality until the PM’s announcement.

“Today, 27 February 2024, our Prime Minister Modi ji Awarded the First Indian Astronaut Wings to Indian Air Force Fighter Pilot, Group Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair. It is a historic moment of pride for our Country, our state of Kerala, and Me personally. In order to maintain the officially required confidentiality, I was waiting for this announcement to let you know that I got married to Prasanth on 17 January 2024, in a traditional ceremony through an arranged marriage,” Lena said in her social media post.

As of now, there has been no immediate comment from Nair’s family, who hail from Nenmara in Palakkad district. Earlier in the day, the residents of Nenmara celebrated with joy upon learning that Group Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair was selected as one of the astronauts for the Gaganyaan mission, alongside Group Captains Angad Pratap, Ajit Krishnan, and Wing Commander Shubhanshu Shukla.
