LOT pilot proposes in flight
LOT Polish Airlines Pilot Proposes to Flight Attendant Girlfriend Mid-Flight, She Says Yes
In a heartwarming mid-flight moment, a Polish pilot proposed to his flight attendant girlfriend aboard a LOT Polish Airlines flight from Warsaw to Krakow, and she happily accepted.
Captain Konrad Hanc, holding a bouquet of flowers, surprised his girlfriend with the proposal, which was captured in a video posted on LOT Polish Airlines’ Facebook page on Monday.
“On today’s flight there is a very special person and I hope that she doesn’t expect anything,” Captain Hanc announced before popping the question.
“About one and a half years ago in this job I met the most wonderful person that completely changed my life,” he continued. “You are most precious to me. You are my greatest dream come true. This is why I have to ask you a favor, honey. Will you marry me?”
The video shows the flight attendant, soon-to-be Mrs. Hanc, named Paula, running down the aisle to embrace her future husband. As Captain Hanc slipped the ring onto her finger, Paula joked, “I don’t know if this is the right hand for this,” in front of the delighted passengers.
The heartwarming video garnered over a thousand comments on Facebook, with well-wishers congratulating the couple on their engagement.
“A huge congratulations! Wishing you both many years of happiness and love,” wrote Sławek Justyniarski.
Monica Zielinski added: “Congratulations you two! Wishing you a lifetime of beautiful memories and travels.”
The couple’s love story is reminiscent of another aviation romance between Ilona Zahn and Ian Duncan, whose 50-year relationship began when Zahn was a flight attendant and Duncan was a pilot on a Pan American World Airways flight from Rome to Tehran in 1970, lasting until Duncan’s passing in 2021 at the age of 86.
Now, Captain Konrad Hanc and Paula will embark on their own journey together, hoping for a relationship as enduring and full of love as that of Zahn and Duncan.
