Karate Kid, Kraven delayed

Karate Kid was initially set to premiere on December 13 of this year. However, sources indicate that its release is being postponed to align with the sixth and final season of Cobra Kai, which faced delays due to strikes.

The film stars Ben Wang as the titular Karate Kid, alongside Joshua Jackson, Sadie Stanley, Ming-Na Wen, Aramis Knight, Wyatt Oleff, Jackie Chan, and Ralph Macchio, reprising their roles from the original franchise. Jonathan Entwistle directs from Rob Lieber’s screenplay.

The release date for “Kraven The Hunter,” featuring Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Spider-Man’s future adversary, has been shifted from August 30 to December 13. Studio executives aim to capitalize on being the sole R-rated release during the holiday season.

Directed by J.C. Chandor and written by Richard Wenk, Art Marcum, and Matt Holloway, the film also stars Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, Alessandro Nivola, Christopher Abbott, and Russell Crowe.

Additionally, the studio has made changes to its calendar, with Chris Weitz’s Blumhouse horror “They Listen” now occupying the August 30 slot. The cast includes John Cho, Katherine Waterston, Havana Rose Liu, Lukita Maxwell, David Dastmalchian, and Keith Carradine.

Legendary Entertainment’s R-rated road trip adventure, “Animal Friends,” is scheduled to open on August 15, 2025. This unique blend of live-action and animation features a star-studded cast including Ryan Reynolds, Jason Momoa, Aubrey Plaza, Daniel Levy, Lil Rel Howery, Addison Rae, and Ellie Bamber. The film will be directed by Peter Atencio.
