Malayalam actor Innocent passes away at 75
With Nrithasala, Innocent made his big-screen debut in 1972. He appeared in more than 750 movies over the course of a five-decade career.
Innocent, a veteran Malayalam actor and former member of parliament, passed away on Sunday at Kochi’s VPS Lakeshore Hospital. He was 75.
He had been receiving our care and treatment since March 3, 2023, according to a section of the medical alert released by Lakeshore Hospital’s administration. His death was caused by multiple organ failure, respiratory problems related to COVID, a cardiac arrest, and other factors
On March 3, Innocent, a cancer survivor, was admitted to Kochi’s VPS Lakeshore Hospital after he reported having trouble breathing and feeling uneasy. According to reports, the 75-year-old actor had been ill for some time.
In 1972’s Nrithasala, the actor made his big-screen debut. In a career spanning five decades, he featured in over 750 films, including Akkare Ninnoru Maran, Gandhinagar 2nd Street, Unnikale Oru Kadha Parayam, Nadodikkattu, Mukunthetta Sumitra Vilikkunnu, Vadakkunokkiyantram, Ramji Rao Speaking, Peruvannapurathe Visheshangal and Mazhavil Kavadi, Thoovalsparsham, Gajakesariyogam, Dr Pasupathy, No.20 Madras Mail, Kottayam Kunjachan, Kilukkam, Sandesham, Keli, Adhwaytham, Kabooliwala, Vietnam Colony and Devaasuram. Vida Parayum Munpe, Ilakkangal, and Ormakkayi, among other films, were even funded by the actor. For fifteen years, he also presided over the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA).
