IIM Udaipur takes sustainable step with 500 kW solar plant

As part of its Sustainability@IIMU initiative, the Indian Institute of Management Udaipur (IIMU) has introduced a 500 kW solar plant on its campus. This solar facility will address 30% of the institute’s energy requirements, producing approximately 2,500 units daily and 7.30 lakh units annually. This initiative is anticipated to lead to significant annual cost savings of 18 lakhs and reduce the institute’s carbon footprint by offsetting 543 tons of CO2. Additionally, IIM Udaipur has enhanced campus lighting by installing 200 solar streetlights along a 3.5 km section of the inner peripheral road.
