IFFK 2022: Delegate registration begins

The 28th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) will conduct delegate registration from November 22. The registration process for the prestigious event, organized by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, commences at 10 AM on Wednesday, November 22. Interested individuals can register through the provided link on the official website www.iffk.in. The delegate fee is Rs. 1180 for the general public and Rs. 590 for students, excluding GST. The registration process is expected to be facilitated by the Delegate Cell, which has been set up at the Tagore Theatre, Thiruvananthapuram, where the main events of the festival are scheduled.

 

The festival, spanning eight days, will showcase 180 films from various countries. Fifteen theaters will host the screenings, featuring movies from Asian, African, Latin American countries, international competition categories, contemporary cinema masters, retrospectives, Country Focus films from Cuba, and a tribute to departed artists. Several packages, including Open Forum, Meet the Director, In Conversation, Exhibition, and Cultural Programs, will be part of the festival. Over 100 guests, including directors, technicians, and jury members from various foreign countries, will participate in the festival.

 

The inauguration ceremony on December 8 at Nishagandhi Auditorium will witness the presentation of the Spirit of Cinema Award to Kenyan director Wanuri Kahiu. The festival will feature events like Open Forum, Meet the Director, In Conversation, Exhibition, and Cultural Programs. The competition categories include Malayalam Cinema Today, Indian Cinema Now, and the International Competition. The festival’s tribute section will honor director Adoor Gopalakrishnan. The event will also celebrate the contributions of eminent personalities in the film industry, including Lifetime Achievement Awards.
