Fuel prices for October 17 revealed: Find out petrol and diesel rates in your city
On October 17, the prices of petrol and diesel have shown minimal fluctuations, with international oil prices remaining relatively steady. Around 6 am on Tuesday, WTI crude was trading at $86.78 per barrel, while Brent crude stood at $89.89 per barrel. Fuel rates in India are subject to daily revisions, with adjustments made every morning at 6 am. Prior to June 2017, price revisions occurred every 15 days.
Some states have witnessed price increases, with Chhattisgarh experiencing a 47-paise rise in both petrol and diesel prices. Madhya Pradesh has seen a 33-paise increase in petrol and a 30-paise increase in diesel. In Uttar Pradesh, petrol and diesel prices have surged by 31%. Other regions, such as West Bengal, Telangana, and Himachal Pradesh, have also noted upward price trends, although Punjab has witnessed a slight reduction of 36 paise in petrol and 35 paise in diesel prices.
Currently, in Delhi, petrol is retailing at Rs 96.72 per litre, while diesel is priced at Rs 89.62 per litre. In Mumbai, petrol is available at Rs 106.31 and diesel at Rs 94.27 per litre. Kolkata reports petrol at Rs 106.03 and diesel at Rs 92.76 per litre. Meanwhile, Chennai has petrol priced at Rs 102.63 and diesel at Rs 94.24 per litre.
In India, fuel prices are determined by oil marketing companies (OMCs) such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum. These prices are recalibrated daily, with changes aligned with global crude oil prices.
