Dubai ranks as the top city in the middle east and Africa in 2024 global city index

Dubai has once again emerged as the highest-ranked city in the Middle East and Africa in the 2024 Global City Index by Brand Finance, marking its second consecutive year at the top of the regional rankings. Globally, the city has made a remarkable leap, climbing to fifth place, surpassing major global powerhouses such as Singapore, Los Angeles, Sydney, San Francisco, and Amsterdam.

The report highlighted Dubai’s growing global stature, particularly noting its number-one position for global reputation, ahead of cities like Sydney and London. Dubai also showed significant improvement in its local and remote work capabilities, jumping from 24th to 4th place. Additionally, the city was ranked as the second-most influential globally, underscoring its key role as an international trade hub and its robust economy.

Scoring an impressive 86 out of 100, Dubai’s performance across critical indicators, including economic resilience, infrastructure, and strategic foresight, helped propel it to its highest-ever position on the index. The report attributes this success to the leadership of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, celebrated the city’s achievements, emphasizing that they align with the Dubai Plan 2030, a vision aimed at enhancing the emirate’s global competitiveness.

A key factor in Dubai’s rise has been its business-friendly policies, including favorable corporate tax regulations and forward-thinking initiatives aimed at attracting global investment. The city’s world-class education system, top-tier connectivity, and accessible visa policies also play a crucial role in reinforcing its position as a leading destination for talent and business in the region.

As Dubai continues to build on its strategic advantages, the emirate is poised to remain a dominant force on the global stage, setting new benchmarks in innovation, economic strength, and international influence.
