Devara box office collection day 2: Jr NTR starrer enters Rs 100 crore club in two days

Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor’s latest film, Devara, has erupted at the box office, crossing the impressive ₹100 crore mark within just two days of its release. Directed by Koratala Siva, this action-packed drama has captivated audiences with its gripping storyline and stellar performances, including a significant role by Saif Ali Khan.

According to Sacnilk.com, Devara garnered ₹82.5 crore (nett) on its opening day and added ₹40 crore (nett) on day two, bringing its total collection to ₹122.19 crore (nett). Reports from Pinkvilla indicate that the film’s opening day ticket sales alone surpassed ₹80 crore, with ₹49 crore coming from India and ₹31 crore from the international market.

In an effort to maximize its box office potential, the makers have announced an extended theatrical release for Devara: Part 1, aiming for a run of at least 50 days—substantially longer than the usual 4-5 weeks. This strategy follows the success of Kalki 2898 AD, which maintained a strong presence in theaters for nearly 8 weeks.

Aakashavaani’s Instagram post confirmed the commitment to a proper 50-day theatrical window, stating, “Makers of Devara going for a proper 50 days theatrical window. Film will not have a digital release before 50 days of theatrical release. So, watch it in theatres.”

Looking ahead, Jr NTR is set to begin work on Devara Part 2, alongside exciting projects such as YRF’s War 2with Hrithik Roshan and an untitled film with Prashanth Neel.

Director Koratala Siva revealed that Devara was initially conceived as a single film, but the story’s expansion led to the decision to split it into two parts. He shared, “When I narrated the story to Jr NTR, it was a 4-hour-long tale, and when I penned it, it became 7 hours. That’s when we decided to make it in two instalments.”

With its thrilling narrative and strategic release plan, Devara is poised to make box office history. Audiences are encouraged to catch this cinematic spectacle on the big screen before its eventual OTT release.
