Delhi NCR air pollution crisis

Delhi-NCR Chokes on ‘Severe Plus’ Air Quality: Emergency Measures in Place ????????

As ‘severe plus’ air quality envelops Delhi-NCR for the second day due to farm fires and unfavorable winds, stringent measures, including truck bans, are enforced.

The toxic haze persists, impacting people with respiratory issues. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal calls an emergency meeting to address the crisis.

Not limited to Delhi, neighboring areas in Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh also report hazardous air quality.

The situation has prompted the implementation of Stage IV measures under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). This includes a ban on non-essential construction work, vehicle restrictions, and working from home for government and private offices.

Farm fires intensify the pollution problem. Unfavorable weather conditions trap pollutants, while post-harvest paddy straw burning contributes to worsening air quality.

It’s a grim situation that requires immediate attention to protect public health and reduce pollution levels. ????️????????????
