Complaint filed against Sheikh Hasina and others for genocide and crimes against humanity
A complaint was filed Monday with the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) accusing 27 individuals, including former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, of committing genocide and crimes against humanity. The complaint, submitted by Md Abul Hasan, whose son Shahriar Hasan Alvi was killed during a recent anti-discrimination protest, names prominent figures such as former ministers Obaidul Quader, Rashed Khan Menon, and Hasanul Huq Inu, as well as other notable figures including Anwar Hossain Monju and former police chief Abdullah Al Mamun. Hasan’s complaint, supported by newspaper clippings and documents, invokes sections 3(2) and 4(1)(2) of The International Crimes (Tribunals) Act, 1973.
