Commercial LPG cylinder prices increased

Ahead of the festive season, state-run oil marketing companies Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation have raised the retail prices of 19-kilogram commercial LPG cylinders by up to Rs 101.5 in the four metros, effective from November 1, 2023. This marks the second price hike in the last two months for commercial LPG cylinders.

Following this recent adjustment, a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi will now cost Rs 1,833, up from the previous price of Rs 1,731. In Mumbai, the price stands at Rs 1,785.50, while in Kolkata, it is Rs 1,943 per cylinder, and in Chennai, it’s Rs 1,999.50 per cylinder.

In October, commercial LPG cylinder prices were Rs 1,684 in Mumbai, Rs 1,839.50 in Kolkata, and Rs 1,898 in Chennai after a rate increase of Rs 209 by the oil companies.

However, the price of domestic LPG cylinders used for household cooking remains unchanged at Rs 903 for a 14.2-kg cylinder in Delhi, while in Kolkata, it’s Rs 929, in Mumbai, it’s Rs 902.5, and in Chennai, it’s being sold for Rs 918.5.

Commercial LPG cylinders had become cheaper in September when oil marketing companies reduced their prices by Rs 157. During that time, the 19 kg commercial cylinder was available at Rs 1522.50 in Delhi and Rs 1636 in Kolkata. In August, there was a reduction of Rs 100 in the prices of commercial LPG gas cylinders.
