BSE companies surpass $4 trillion
During a continuous surge in the stock market, the collective valuation of BSE-listed companies has exceeded the $4 trillion milestone, reaching $4.01 trillion or Rs 333 lakh crore. The stock exchange’s market capitalization has witnessed a substantial rise of over $500 billion since the start of the year.
Despite being just 2 percent away from its record high, the Sensex, the 30-share BSE benchmark, achieved an all-time peak of 67,927.23 on September 15th this year. Although the Sensex has experienced a robust rally of 5,333.46 points or 8.76 percent this year, the combined market capitalization of all listed firms on the platform has surged by approximately Rs 50 lakh crore.
On a global scale, the United States holds the position of the largest equity market with a market capitalization of nearly $48 trillion, followed by China at $9.7 trillion and Japan at $6 trillion.
