Bangladesh secures historic series win over Pakistan with dramatic victory
Bangladesh achieved a historic milestone on Tuesday, recording their first-ever series win over Pakistan with a six-wicket triumph in the second Test held in Rawalpindi. Chasing a modest target of 185 runs, the visitors successfully reached the target for the loss of four wickets, just 25 minutes before the tea break on the final day, clinching a 2-0 series victory.
The win follows Bangladesh’s dominant performance in the first Test, where they secured a commanding 10-wicket victory, also in Rawalpindi. This series sweep marks a significant achievement for Bangladesh, who had not previously beaten Pakistan in 14 encounters.
This series win is only Bangladesh’s third-ever Test series victory away from home, adding to their earlier successes against the West Indies in 2009 and Zimbabwe in 2021.
