BAFTA 2024
In a dazzling ceremony held at London’s Royal Festival Hall, Christopher Nolan’s biopic film “Oppenheimer” stole the spotlight at the BAFTA Film Awards 2024, clinching a total of seven prestigious wins. The acclaimed film secured victories in major categories, including Best Director, Best Film, and Best Leading Actor for Cillian Murphy.
Meanwhile, “Poor Things” showcased its brilliance with an impressive five BAFTA wins, earning accolades for Leading Actress Emma Stone, as well as in Costume, Make Up and Hair, Production Design, and Special Visual Effects categories, as reported by Deadline, a prominent US-based media outlet.
Notably, “Killers of the Flower Moon,” “Maestro” by Bradley Cooper, and Greta Gerwig’s blockbuster “Barbie” were completely shut out despite receiving multiple nominations. “Barbie,” featuring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, had five nominations but failed to secure any wins.
