Ashwini Vaishnaw expresses delight over google’s plan to manufacture Pixel smartphones in India.
Union Minister for Communications, Electronics, and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, hailed a significant milestone with Google’s decision to manufacture Google Pixel 8 smartphones in India. He emphasized that this achievement was made possible through the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Just nine years ago, electronics manufacturing in India was minimal, with mobile manufacturing nearly non-existent, resulting in approximately 98% of mobile phones being imported. However, thanks to the combined efforts of programs like Digital India, Make in India, and Startup India, India has transformed into a trusted value chain partner. Ashwini Vaishnaw expressed his delight that major electronics manufacturers are now establishing their design facilities in India, and he proudly announced Google’s commitment to manufacture Pixel smartphones in the country, describing this as a remarkable achievement.
